Subject:
Error Message on Electronic
Display Unit (EDU)
Application:
9000 Models
In certain cases, it is possible for the electronic display unit (EDU) in 9000 models to display an error message with an oil temperature symbol or it could
display an error message for sport normal." when diagnosed with ISAT, Fault Code 46222/26222 is retrieved. Neither of these "false" error displays (oil
temperature symbol and sport normal) necessarily means that there is something wrong with the unit.
Some EDU's have possible future functions incorporated into their logic. The EDU is trying to read a signal that is not present, therefore an error
message is generated. If for any reason the EDU is not properly programmed from the factory to ignore these future functions, the EDU will try to read a
signal that the car is not capable of generating.
Should this situation be encountered, the following procedure will eliminate future occurances.
Service Procedure
1.
Use ISAT (on the green SAT tester connection) to make contact with the EDU (DIAG, ONE, 1, ON/ENTER).
2.
Program the EDU with ISAT command codes 206 (type of fuel system) and 208 (selecting the appropriate EDU and equipment type).
3.
Use the Reset feature in ISAT to clear all fault codes.
4.
Terminate communication using the terminate function.
5.
Turn ISAT off.
6.
Turn car off.
When the car is restarted, the error display will be erased.
